he has valid points.
the thing about job security means slightly less here since we have saner contracts and indeed employment law in general. its hell of lot harder to just fire someone.

Someone on my friends list wrote a rather good debunking of that article a while ago, but she's asked me not to direct people to her journal, so I can't link you to it.
I would try to reproduce it, but I can't read more than a couple of sentences of that man's drivel without wanting to throw my laptop out the window.
