Tower of London

To celebrate [livejournal.com profile] shuripentu's birthday we had a group excursion to The Tower of London. It was one of those lovely winter days that was absolutely freezing but with a beautiful blue sky and bright sunshine. I went to The Tower on a school trip, my abiding memory of which was drawing pictures of armour and staring at the crown jewels. My abiding memory this time is not really knowing what I was looking at - I really should commit to buying audio guides so I've got some sort of clue. We did take the little guided tour which was entertaining, and gave a good overview, but I found myself craving wikipedia.

All in all, the tower is very impressive and a nice touristy trip, but it only really takes 3 or 4 hours and at 19quid for the ticket it's a bit steep.

To be perfectly fair to the Tower, we did miss several things; I think we did most of the headline stuff but there were a couple other towers and exhibits we skipped. I reckon you could spend the best part of a full day there, but for that I'd need to have been born at a more temperate time of year. ;P It could do with being cheaper but I guess they're never going to be short of visitors so they can charge what they like...
